WAYNESBORO, PA. - Bruce Neibert Jr. was told Wednesday that he needs to clear at least 500 tons of scrap out of his junkyard on Pa. 316 or face having Washington Township, Pa., send crews to do it at his expense.

"We're going to have an inventory reduction," Neibert told the township supervisors at their workshop meeting.

He has been given until June 26 to clear approximately half of the eight-acre junkyard on the east side of Pa. 316. Neibert also was told to remove junk from the west side of Pa. 316, where officials said the items are not permitted.

Neibert said big machinery is scheduled to remove about 500 tons of debris within 60 days. He expressed concern that his personal skid loader is not able to easily move much of the junk.

The township supervisors said they were concerned about debris flowing out of the bounds of the junkyard and reminded Neibert they have had similar problems in the past.
