Pa. teacher who faced charges commits suicide

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A Fulton County, Pa., high school teacher who was charged Friday with inappropriately touching two students committed suicide Monday, according to a press release from Pennsylvania State Police.

David A. Davies, 45, of Hustontown, Pa., an eighth-grade teacher at Forbes Road High School, was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m. Monday at his 1986 Dublin Mills Road home in Taylor Township, the release states.

His death was ruled a suicide, police said. Davies was found with a single gunshot wound to his head, the release states.

Davies had been charged with eight counts of indecent assault, seven counts of corruption of minors, six counts of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of harassment and three counts each of aggravated indecent assault and indecent exposure, according to the release.

The alleged victims in the case are a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl, police said in the release.
