FUNKSTOWN - Three incumbents and one other Funkstown resident have filed to run for office in the town's May election.

Mayor Robert L. Kline was the only resident to file to run for mayor. He has been mayor of Funkstown since 1980.

Three people have filed to run for a position on the town's council. Only two spots are available.

Councilmen Kim A. Ramer and Richard "Dick" Nigh have filed to run again. Jerry Walker, who never has served on the town's council, also will appear on the ballot.

The election is May 1, and residents may vote at Funkstown's Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The mayor and council members serve four-year terms.
