St. John's Episcopal Church, Hagerstown, the Rev. Scott Landis will preach at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion services this Palm Sunday. The parish choir and handbells will bring music at the later service which will begin outside with a palm procession.

Christian education is at 9 a.m. The adult forum is also at 9 a.m. with a discussion on the temptation of security and prestige led by Bill Lucht.




St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Rev. David B. Kaplan will be preaching this Sunday at the 8:15 a.m. chapel and 10:30 a.m. communion services on the topic, From Palms through Passion: He Humbled Himself. There will be an abbreviated communion at 2 p.m.

Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:15 a.m.

The Wednesday Lenten service begins at 7 p.m. with theme Beatitudes of Jesus - Blessed are the Merciful.




Asbury United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va., the Palm Sunday service this Sunday will be held at 7 p.m.

St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, Pastor Mark Mooney will preach at the 9:30 a.m. service this Palm Sunday on the topic, Give Us Barabbas! Mooney and his puppet friend E-man will give a children's sermon. There will be a baptism.

Sunday School classes for children, youth and adults are at 10:45 a.m.




Marlowe (W.Va.) Assembly of God, the Easter musical, Lamb of God, will be performed this Sunday at 7 p.m. by the praise choir.

Under the direction of Darrell Berger, the musical will feature drama, costumes, special lighting and video.




St. Catherine Eastern Orthodox Church of Hagerstown, the annual spring Lenten breakfast and church cleanup begin today at 9 a.m. Vespers are tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Father Dennis Buck's Divine Liturgy celebrating St. Mary of Egypt will be held this Sunday at 10 a.m. Church school is held afterward for the children.

Presanctified Liturgy will be served at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. A light Lenten meal with a religious discussion will follow.

Presanctified Liturgy will also be served at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Divine Liturgy celebrating Lazarus will be at 10 a.m. on April 15.

Wednesday night study topic will be Confessions of a Prodigal.




Calvary United Methodist Church, Martinsburg, W.Va., the message at the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services this Palm Sunday is The Passion of the Christ.

Lenten worship for in-town United Methodist churches will be at Otterbein United Methodist Church Wednesday at 7 p.m. Pastor Al Clipp will speak.




Unity, Shepherdstown, W.Va., this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Anne Murphy will lead communion services at the beginning of The Week That Changed The World.

The congregation meets at the Train Station at German and High streets.




Zion United Church of Christ, the Christian Dramatic Arts will perform an Easter program during the 11 a.m. service this Sunday.

The Rev. Don Stevenson will speak at the Wednesday Lenten service which begins at 6 p.m. with a potluck dinner. The topic at the 6:45 p.m. service is Forgiveness in Human Life.

Bible study is Tuesday at 10 a.m. and youth activities are Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Pikeside United Methodist Church, Paynes Ford Road and U.S. 11, Martinsburg, W.Va., the Rev. Thomas Young Jr. will bring the message, The Cross Confronts the Modern World, at the 8:30 and 10:35 a.m. services this Palm Sunday.

Sunday School for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. The Sunday evening service is at 7 p.m. will feature Young speaking on Whatever Happened to the Promised Land.

Monday night at 7, Young will speak on The Lord's Evidence.




Church of the Holy Trinity, Halfway, the Rev. Tim Leighton will lead the 10:45 a.m. service this Sunday. His sermon topic is entitled Humiliated.




Children's church meets during the service. Fellowship and light refreshments follow the service.

Tri-State Fellowship, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, Pastor Randy Buchman will continue the sermon series Boldness and Commitment at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday in the auditorium and in the video cafe. This week's topic is For Such A Time As This: The Life of Esther.

The children's program is also at 9:30 a.m. Learning centers are at 11 a.m.
