Planning Department proposal discussed

April 05, 2006|by TARA REILLY

The Washington County Commissioners on Tuesday discussed a proposal by the Planning Department to raise or create new building-related fees.

Planning Director Michael Thompson proposed raising the fees to help cover the staffing costs of reviewing development plans, drafting reports and other work.

The proposed fee hikes include the cost of residential and commercial site plans and rezoning requests.

A public hearing on the proposed new fees and increases will be held April 25, according to a written statement from the county.
