Retrieve the Bible in exciting video game

April 04, 2006|by ROBERT KELLER

Imagine traveling through worlds and collecting parts of the Bible while you battle hideous and demonic creatures. "Ominous Horizons," played on your PC, will do just that.

"Ominous Horizons" by N-Lightning Software Development Inc. is rated T for teen and can be found in Christian bookstores.

In "Ominous Horizons," players try to collect all of the pieces of the Bible that were stolen by an agent of Satan, the enemy of God. The Bible that was stolen was the first Bible created, and it must be found. Players' weapons include a Sword of the Spirit and Holy Crossbow. Protect yourself with the armor of God.

In order to play this game, you must have Windows 95 or a more recent version. You also will need a 3-D accelerator and DirectX 8.0, as the graphics in this game are high-resolution. You will need 64MB of RAM and a Windows- compatible sound card.

The graphics in this game are so life-like; it makes you feel like you are actually in the game itself! It is a first person game. While the creatures themselves won't scare you, it is when they jump out of hiding that they startle you.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a high 9.
