Rachel Leanna Boyd of Gerrardstown, W.Va., has been selected as a princess in the court of Queen Shenandoah LXXIX for the 79th annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, scheduled for May 2-7 in Winchester, Va.

Boyd will represent the West Virginia Horticulture Society. She attends Musselman High School, where she is a senior and is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and yearbook staff. She is the daughter of Tammy and J. Scott Boyd, and the granddaughter of JoAnn and Bill Butler of Inwood, W.Va., and Miriam Boyd of Ocala, Fla. and the late Jim Boyd.
