Senior citizens club to gather

The Maugansville Senior Friendship Club will meet Tuesday, April 4, at the TOPS Chinese Buffet at the shopping center across from the new Sheetz store on Longmeadow Road.

It will be a Dutch treat lunch at noon followed by a meeting.

The speaker will be Todd Frey, a representative of Woodmen of the World.

School to hold spring book fair

Maugansville Elementary School will be having a Spring Book Fair, starting Thursday. On Thursday, a visitation day will be held. Everyone is invited to visit the classroom and stop by the book fair.

There will be a special surprise for all students when visiting the book fair this spring. On Monday, April 3, an ice cream social will also be held, starting at 6 p.m., so don't miss out on that!

Below are the hours of operation for the book fair:

Thursday, March 30

8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 1

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (open to public.)

Monday, April 3

8 to 8:30 a.m.; 3 p.m. to 3:30; 6 to 7:30 p.m. (ice cream social.)

Tuesday, April 4

8 to 8:30 a.m.; 3 to 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 5

8 to 8:30 a.m.

Volunteers are needed to help with the book fair. Anyone wishing to volunteer, please call Toni Webb at 301-739-1618.

Your time would be greatly appreciated and would help make the book fair a success.

All proceeds raised at the PTA event returns to the school to help fund or purchase many of the things the students and teachers need.

Auction to benefit Tri-State Fellowship

The public is invited to the annual Tri-State Fellowship Student Ministries auction on Saturday, April 8.

The auction caf, silent auction and cash and carry tables will open at 4 p.m. The live auction begins at 5 p.m.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit approximately 60 students and adults from Tri-State Fellowship as they travel this summer to Purdue University for the National Youth Conference of the Evangelical Free Churches of America.

In addition to typical concession items, the caf menu will include homemade waffles with toppings and homemade ice cream.

Tri-State Fellowship is an Evangelical Free Church at 13153 Cearfoss Pike in Hagers-town (one mile west of Interstate 81 at exit 7-B.)
