Business owners found guilty of serving alcohol without license

Two Hancock business owners were found guilty Thursday of serving alcohol without a license.

Glenn Ray Francis Sr., 57, and Doris Ann Francis, 55, both of 14005 Roundtop Road, were each charged with serving alcohol without a license and selling tip jars without a license, Washington County District Court documents state.

Both were found guilty of alcohol charges and sentenced to 12 months in jail, with 12 months of the sentence suspended. Tip jar charges were dismissed in each case, documents state.

The two were connected with Sugar Shack on Roundtop Road in Hancock at the time the charges were filed in July 2005.
