Grace Academy team on a mission to reach out

The Grace Academy Missions Team has been established to reach out to the community and help those in need. If you are a nonprofit organization and could use help from the Missions Team, call the Grace Academy office at 301-733-2033.

In January, the Missions Team passed out baby bottles to students in grades K4 through six to fill up with coins, cash or checks to support the Hagerstown Pregnancy Center. Students in grades seven through 12 filled up large baby bottles in their classrooms. The total amount collected was $2,665.88. They are Christopher Fuss, Katie Mazzola, Robert Wolfe III, Steven Wolfe and Katie Mitchell.

On Jan. 17, the Missions Team volunteered at the Western Maryland Hospital Center. They led patients in doing crafts and playing bingo. They are Megan Everett, Lauren Cox, Thomas Rock, Robert Wolfe III and Steven Wolfe.

On Jan. 27, the Missions Team spent the afternoon recycling books at Book Savers. Participating students are Lauren Martin, Jamie Shurnitski, Kaitlyn Rowland, Megan Everett, Rebecca Morgan, Elizabeth Roane, Robert Wolfe III and Thomas Rock.

On Feb. 4, the team sorted food at Food Resources. They are Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Roane, Steven Wolfe, Robert Wolfe III, Yolanda Smith, Lauren Cox, Megan Everett, Elizabeth Roane, Danielle Kesecker and Jamie Shurnitski.
