Clean up and get dirty for posterity

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va.

Saturday, April 1, is the 10th annual Park Day. Volunteers are needed to help clean up the Schoolhouse Ridge Battlefield at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Starting at 9 a.m., volunteers will remove trash, fences, brush and downed timber in preparation for new trails and exhibits. Parking will be at the intersection of Bakerton Road and U.S. 340. Park staff will coordinate the cleanup until 4 p.m.

Volunteers will get dirty and should wear sturdy shoes or boots. Tools, trash bags and canvas gloves for adults will be provided by the park staff. Park Day is held rain or shine.
