SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Today, 7 p.m., White Hall Room 109, Shepherd University. This will be a teach-in and letter writing meeting. The topic for letter writing will bethe proposed U.S. Senate ratification of the Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women treaty. Morris Frock American Legion Auxiliary Unit 42

Tuesday, April 4, appetizers at 6 p.m., unit's birthday dinner at 7 p.m., Morris Frock Post 42, 405 Northern Ave., Hagerstown. Cost is $8 per person. Speaker will be Shirley Fenstermacher, who with Margaret McDonnell, wrote the book, " Franklin: A Frontier County." Soup and sandwich sale

WILLIAMSPORT - Saturday, April 1, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Williamsport Ambulance Station, 33 W. Salisbury St. Country ham and bean, and chicken corn soups will be sold for $1.50 per bowl or $3 per quart. Sandwiches available include regular ham, $2; country ham, $2.50; or hot dogs, $1. Baked goods also will be sold. Proceeds benefit the Williamsport Ambulance Service.

Turkey and oyster dinner
