The Carbaughs

Harold and Sharon Carbaugh of Clear Spring celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with family members Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at Western Sizzlin Restaurant. The gathering was hosted by their sons and spouses, Lynn and Donna Carbaugh, Brian and Chrystal Carbaugh and Eric Carbaugh. They also were honored with a card shower.

The Carbaughs were married Jan. 29, 1966, at Blairs Valley First Church of God by the Rev. Robert Easterday, now deceased.

Mrs. Carbaugh is the former Sharon Gruber, daughter of Dorothy and Ray Gruber Sr. of Williamsport. She is a homemaker.

Mr. Carbaugh is the son of the late Jacob and Helen Carbaugh. He is a self-employed dairy farmer in Clear Spring.

They have five granddaughters and two grandsons.

The Fowlers

James and Pearl Fowler of Hagerstown were surprised at a dinner party Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at the Plaza Hotel in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. The event was hosted by their daughter, Kimberly Taylor, and her husband, Mark of Hagerstown. Their other daughter, Patricia Keller, and her husband, Kim, traveled from Florida to help celebrate. Friends from four states attended the event.


The Fowlers were married Dec. 22, 1955, in Bucks County, Pa.

Mrs. Fowler is a mother, wife and homemaker.

Mr. Fowler is a retired salesman for Tastykake. He is now a driver with Washington County Commuter. He also is an elder in the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and performs prison ministry work.

In addition to their two daughters, the Fowlers had another child who died in June 2001. They have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
