Creamy Tomato Soup with Basil

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup milk

1/2 cup chopped tomatoes

4 cups tomato juice

1 tablespoon fresh basil, lightly chopped

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper

2 ounces Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon sugar

Combine all ingredients and heat until just boiling.
