A Hagerstown man was charged with robbing and assaulting two men in February.

Myron Jai Wood, 38, of 256 S. Potomac St., Apt. 1, was charged with armed robbery, first-degree and second-degree assault, use of a handgun in commission of a felony, handgun on person and theft, Hagerstown Police said. The charges stem from a Feb. 11 armed robbery in Hagerstown.

Police said that while Wood was in custody on these charges he was connected to another robbery Feb. 19 and was charged with separate offenses.

Wood was charged additionally with robbery, first-degree assault, theft and two counts of second-degree assault, police said.

Wood was arrested Feb. 20.

In the Feb. 11 robbery, a homeless man said he was walking in the unit block of West Franklin Street, next to the U.S. Post Office, when he was attacked by two men, police said. The victim said one man grabbed him by the throat, and he fell to the ground.

The robbers punched the man, and one pulled out a gun and placed it near the victim's head, police said. The robbers beat and kicked the man, and eventually fled with the victim's coat and an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

In the Feb. 19 incident, a 41-year-old man was robbed by a man and a woman on East North Avenue. Police said the pair took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim was assaulted, and hospitalized for his injuries, police said.

Wood's girlfriend, Michelle Renee Boward (Pfeltz), 38, of 1000 Salem Ave. in Hagerstown, also was charged in the robbery, police said. She was charged with robbery, first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and theft.
