Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town, W.Va., a Lenten monolog series on the seven last words of Christ will be held during Sunday morning worship services. This Sunday, Karen Hummer, Amanda Dotson and Melissa Lineburg will play the part of Leah at the 8:30, 9:45 and 11 a.m. services.

The sermon topic is Behold Your Son. Pastor Richard Kroll will preach at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services, and David Hamill will speak at 9:45 a.m.




St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, Pastor Mark Mooney will preach at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, That Makes Me Sooo Mad!. Mooney and his puppet friend E-man will give a children's sermon.

Sunday School classes for children, youth and adults are at 10:45 a.m.




First Baptist Church, Pastor Thom Smith will speak on the topic, The Point of the Cross, at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday.

Christ Reformed UCC in Cavetown, the Rev. Carol Hallman will speak at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, Priorities.

Valley Assembly of God Christian Life Center, 17544 York Road, Hagerstown, the Rev. Robert Jones will speak at 10 a.m. this Sunday on the topic, The Resurrected Life of the Believer.

Calvary United Methodist Church, Martinsburg, W.Va., the message at the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services this Sunday is The Big Clean-up!, an illustrated talk. Campfire Ministries Sunday and Family Sunday will be observed. The hand bell choir will provide music.

Lenten worship for in-town United Methodist churches will be at Otterbein United Methodist Church. Wednesday at 7 p.m. with the Dr. Ed Grove speaking.




Unity, Shepherdstown, W.Va., this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Anne Murphy will speak on Power of the Spoken Word.

The congregation meets at the Train Station at German and High streets.

Zion United Church of Christ, the Rev. Robert Royal will speak during the 11 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, Holy Anger and the Cause of Righteousness. The children's choir will sing.

Sunday school begins at 9:15 a.m.

The Rev. Don Stevenson will speak at the Wednesday Lenten service which begins at 6 p.m. with a potluck dinner. The topic at the 6:45 p.m. service is Forgiveness: Restoring the Breach.




Calvary Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Doug Courter will speak on the topic, God's Way or the Highway, at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday.

Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m. Women of Charis and Master's Men groups will meet at 6 p.m.

Bible study is Tuesday at 10 a.m. and youth activities are Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Mount Vernon Reformed UCC, Keedysville, Pastor Delancey Catlett will speak on the topic, Jews Demand Signs and Greeks Demand Wisdom, at the 10:40 a.m. service this Sunday.

The Md. 34 Corridor Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Salem United Methodist Church in Keedysville.




Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, the Rev. Tim Ritchey Martin will speak on the topic, Wilderness Time: A Time of Dependence, at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Sharpsburg, the Rev. Richard Hembrock will be speaking on the topic, Substance Over Style, at the 10 a.m. communion service this Sunday.

Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown, Pastor Larry Aikens will be speaking at 8:30 and 11 a.m. services Sunday. The topic will be A Life that Commands Respect.

Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

Aikens will speak at the 6 p.m. evening service this Sunday, Fulfilling Parental Obligations, resuming the series Raising the Next Generation.

Wednesday Bible study and children's programs are at 7:30 p.m. and teen group and master clubs meet at 7 p.m.




Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Md. 67 and Locust Grove Road, Rohrersville, the Rev. Blaine Feightner will be preaching on the topic, All Out, at the 8:45 a.m. service this Sunday.

Christian education is at 10 a.m.

Wednesday Lenten services begin at 7 p.m.

Pinesburg Baptist Church, 14706 Clear Spring Road, Williamsport, Scott Johnston will be the guest speaker at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday.

Johnston will teach during the 10 a.m. Sunday school time.

Sharpsburg Church of the Brethren, Tom Calloway from the Gideons will speak at the 9:30 a.m. service. Donna Nutting will be worship leader.

Sunday school for children begins at 10 a.m., and 11:45 a.m. for adults.

The Russian service is at 2 p.m.

St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, the Rev. Wesley Scouten will bring a message, In the Eyes of the Beholder, at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service.

Sunday school for children is at 9:40 a.m. and adult Sunday school starts at 10:40 a.m.
