Special services

Sharpsburg Bible Church, revival services will be held this Sunday through Wednesday, March 22. Sunday services are at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Services Monday through Wednesday begin at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Evangelist Rev. Neville West.

Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, Cavetown, the Smithsburg Area Church Association will be sponsoring Tuesday afternoon services during Lent. The Rev. John Schildt of Bethel United Methodist Church will speak this week.

The services begin at noon, and will be followed by a soup and sandwich meal in the fellowship hall of the church.

St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Hagerstown, a special day of reflection for men will be held March 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The theme is Making, Breaking and Keeping Promises. The Rev. Kevin Gillespie will explore themes of promises made to self, family and others using biblical figures as models of discernment. For information or to register, call 301-733-7363.


Downsville Church of the Brethren, open house and information fair March 25 from 3 to 6 p.m. Learn what the church has to offer. Refreshments will be served. Call Joe Gaylor at 301-582-4048.

Living the Questions, a five-week Lenten study with the Church of the Apostles UCC and Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro, Pa., will be held on Thursdays at 6 p.m. through April 6 at the two churches. A potluck supper is included.

Washington Square United Methodist Church, 538 Washington Ave., Hagerstown, a pork and sauerkraut dinner will be held Saturday April 1, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Sponsored by the adult choir, the meal will also feature mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, applesauce, rolls, drink and dessert. Tickets cost $7.50 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 3 to 12, and children 2 and under eat free.
