At Tuesday's meeting, Tom Pinata, director of health management at Washington County Hospital, will speak on clinical drug research trials.

Eyeglass Report: Lion Tom Haver, co-chair of Sight and Hearing, reports that during the last two weeks, collection was as follows: 210 pairs of eyeglasses, 425 lenses, 14 frames and 204 eyeglass cases.

South Class of 1971

South Hagerstown High School's Class of 1971 will be celebrating their 35-year reunion this summer. The reunion is scheduled for Saturday, July 22, at the Sheraton Four Points on Dual Highway, Hagerstown. Invitations will be mailed by the end of March.

The committee is updating its mailing list. If you know someone from this class who is living out of town, please pass this information on to them. This was a large graduating class and it is a challenge to keep track of everyone!

Pork and sauerkraut dinner Saturday

St. Matthew's United Methodist Church will be having a pork and sauerkraut dinner on Saturday, March 18, from noon until 6 p.m. The dinner will include pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and gravy, succotash, applesauce, coffee and water. The cost of the dinner will be $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under. Sodas will be available for 50 cents. There will be a bake sale, which will include large cinnamon rolls. Take-out is also available The church is at the corner of Franklin and High Streets, with parking behind the church. Youth group fundraiser

Take a night off from cooking and help St. John's Lutheran Church's youth group raise money by dining at the McDonald's on Garland Groh Boulevard (near Borders) on Tuesday, March 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the youth from St. John's Church, who are raising money for their trip to the National Lutheran Youth Gathering in San Antonio, Texas, in July.

Junior All-Stars

These students at E. Russell Hicks Middle School were named to the Hagerstown Junior Basketball League All-Star teams. Congratulations to all!

Junior Blue Division A Team - Nick Martin, Devonte Morel, Brandon McCauley.

Red Division A Team - Jacob Bucher, Anthony Owens.

Blue Division B Team - Sam Johnson.

Red Division B Team: Delaney Williams, Blake Bandeff, Xavier Richardson, Justin Myers, Tim Hoover.

Elementary Red Division Team - C.J. Davis.

Joey Sutch, a student at Saint James School, was also named to the Junior Blue Division B team.

The game will be played Saturday, March 18 at St. Maria Goretti High School. The Junior Division B game starts at 1 p.m. followed by the Elementary Division game and the Junior A game.

Gymnastics showcase

The 4 Star Athletic Complex at Milestone Terrace, Williamsport, will have great talent for you to watch on Saturday March 25, beginning at 7 p.m., for a great cause!

The event will feature performances by the 4 Star gymnastics team levels 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 on the uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and tumbling on the innovative Tumble Track; a karate demonstration by Lisa Buckley and Bob Sandburg; performances by the national champion Magnum Force cheerleading squad; floor exercise routines by Maryland state champion Alicia Perez and Russian gymnast Natalia Kruller; and a dance routine by Leanne Heinlein.
