Pork and sauerkraut feed at St. Matthew's

St. Matthew's Church, at the corner of High and Franklin streets, will hold a pork and sauerkraut dinner on Saturday, March 18, from noon to 6 p.m. at the church. Parking is available behind the church. The menu also includes mashed potatoes and gravy, succotash, applesauce and coffee and water. Sodas are available for $.50 each. A bake sale featuring a wide array of delicious desserts is also planned. Cost is $7 per person - the cost for kids age 12 years old and under is $3.50 per child. Flower & Garden Show at HCC

Want to add eye-catching beauty and color to your home's gardens and landscaping this spring? You will discover spectacular garden ideas for your home just in time for the upcoming spring season at the 12th Annual Flower & Garden Show to be held Saturday, March 18, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 19, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Hagerstown Community College's ARCC.


This year's show theme is "The Gift of the Garden." Admission is $4 per person, with children age 12 years and under admitted free. Free parking is available.

The show features floral and garden exhibitors and vendors, gardening seminars and demonstrations, area garden club displays, "Day in the Garden" and "Quilt" raffles, children's gardening activities, beautiful show gardens, a delightful garden caf featuring refreshments available for purchase, and so much more! Pangborn PTA Basket Bingo

Come out and enjoy an afternoon of bingo while helping the Pangborn Elementary School PTA at the Pangborn PTA Basket Bingo to be held on Sunday, March 19, at the Elks Lodge on Robinwood Drive.

Tickets are $20 per person - children age 9 years and older are welcome. There will be 20 games, lots of filled theme baskets, great door prizes, and drinks and other snacks available for purchase. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., with lunch served at 12:30 p.m. - lunch is included with ticket cost. Tickets are available in the Pangborn Elementary School office or you can call Becky Fritts at 301-733-9030.

Women's Club Sunday Brunch

On Sunday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Women's Club will serve a Sunday brunch at its historic location at 31 S. Prospect St. Those attending will get to sample a wide variety of wonderful dishes prepared by Women's Club members. The cost is $15 per person and includes beverages, food, dessert, tax and gratuity. For reservations call 301-739-0870.

Museum fundraiser

The Washington Co. Museum of Fine Arts will celebrate its 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary in 2006-2007. To begin the festivities, the museum will hold its second annual Rolex Watch Raffle Fundraiser, to be held at the Museum's annual meeting on Thursday, March 23, at 6 p.m. You need not be present to win. Tickets cost $75 for five tickets, $40 for two tickets, and $25 for one ticket. Tickets are now available for purchase at the Museum located in City Park, R. Bruce Carson Jewelers on the Square, and other area locations.

The winner will receive an 18-carat gold and stainless steel Oyster Perpetual Datejust men's or ladies' Rolex watch with a retail value of $7,500. The winner has the option of selecting another watch or piece of jewelry of comparable value. Proceeds from this raffle offer important support for the Museum's free exhibitions, concerts and programs such as its long-running Saturday Morning Youth Program.

Hagerstown Lioness Club to celebrate

Happy birthday to the Hagerstown Lioness Club! On Thursday, April 6, the Hagerstown Lioness Club will celebrate its 28th anniversary "Spring Fantasy" in the Grand Venice Ballroom, 431 Dual Highway. Social time begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $17 per person. Entertainment will be provided by the Clear Spring High School Reflections Show Choir, directed by Beth A.
