Man found dead outside hospital

FREDERICK, Md. - A man who was found dead Saturday morning outside Frederick Memorial Hospital apparently jumped off the parking deck, Frederick Police said.

Police said they were called to the parking deck at about 6:20 a.m. and found a man lying dead on the ground.

The man's name was not released because his family hadn't been notified, police said in a news release.

Two in serious condition after crash

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Two people were admitted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore following a two-vehicle collision that closed U.S. 340 near the bridge over the Potomac River for more than an hour Saturday, Maryland State Police said.

The accident happened when a 2001 Hyundai Elantra driven by Fletcher R. Webb, 45, of Bladensburg, Md., crossed the center line heading east after crossing the bridge and hit an oncoming vehicle driven by Lori Ann Chaney, of 57 Bugs Court, Charles Town, W.Va., police said.

Webb and a passenger, Simone S. Terry, 43, were listed in serious condition, according to a spokeswoman at the trauma center.

Chaney was released from Washington County Hospital Saturday, but a passenger in her vehicle, Carie B. Bishop, remained in the hospital as of Saturday night. Her condition was unavailable, according to a hospital official.

Bulgarian woman killed in collision

FREDERICK, Md. - A Bulgarian woman in the United States on a work visa was killed in a crash at Md. 355 and Park Mills Road on Friday afternoon, Maryland State Police said.

Rosica Spiridonova Stoyanova, who was pronounced dead at the scene, would have turned 27 this coming Saturday, police said.

Stoyanova was driving a red 1991 Toyota pickup. Police said she crossed the center line and hit a blue 1999 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a male juvenile. Police said the male was not at fault and they were not releasing his name.

He was flown to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not life-threatening, police said.

8-year-old girl hurt in ATV accident

SMITHSBURG - An 8-year-old girl was flown to Children's Hospital in Washington D.C., after breaking her leg following an accident on an all-terrain vehicle Saturday, Maryland State Police said.

The girl, who was not identified, was injured after the vehicle flipped over about 4:43 p.m. while riding on it with an adult on private property near Md. 77, police said.

No further information was available.
