COCOA, Fla.

Matt Murry led Hagerstown Community College with three hits, including a fifth-inning home run, Saturday help the Hawks defeat Massasoit Community College in the first of two games at the Cocoa Expo.

Lowell Cotes had two hits and two RBI for HCC.

Kyle Chronister had two hits and two RBI to pace HCC to a 8-5 win over the Ontario Blue Jays in the nightcap.

Cotes had two doubles for the Hawks (5-0), while Drew Counselman and Murry each had two hits and one RBI.

Shepherd 13-8, A-B 5-7

PHILLIPI, W.Va. - Joe Cook went 4-for-5 with two RBI to lead Shepherd University to a victory in the opener of a WVIAC sweep over Alderson-Broaddus.

Nicky Brown had 4-for-4 with two RBI for Shepherd, while Collin Brown added three hits and Dirk Webb chipped in with two hits.

Webb, Brown, Andrew McCormick and Josh Bowers all homered for the Rams. Starter Scott McCormick (4-1) got the win.

In the second game, Collin Brown went 3-for-4 to lead Shepherd.

Matt Noll had two hits and three RBI for the Rams (11-5, 2-0), while Joe Cook added two hits and two RBI. Chris Anderson (4-0) pitched the victory for the Rams.
