Indians advance

March 11, 2006

JOHNSTOWN, Pa.

Southern Fulton's boys basketball team found itself in stable condition on Friday.

That's because the Indians maxed out their horsepower.

Colin Watson scored 19 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists, helping Southern Fulton defeat Harmony 68-48 in the first round of the PIAA Class A playoffs Friday night.

"We got out on our horses in transition tonight," said Hendershot. "We shot very well and our defense limited (Harmony) to one shot."

P.J. Hixon added 12 points and Brad Divel had 10 for the Indians, who advance to the Sweet 16 to play Elk County Catholic on Tuesday night at a site yet to be determined. Elk County Catholic is the No. 2-ranked team in Pennsylvania with a 29-0 record.

Harmony was off-key in the first quarter, as Southern Fulton built a 21-4 lead and never looked back.
