Man shot in leg

gunman sought by police today

A 29-year-old Hagerstown man was shot in the lower leg at 11:23 p.m. Thursday on a Washington Gardens Apartments walkway, Hagerstown Police Department Sgt. Paul Kifer said.

The victim sustained non- life-threatening injuries in the shooting, which was reportedly in front of 1006 Security Road, he said.

Police are still searching for the gunman, Kifer said.

He said the gunman was described as a black man, who was about 5 feet 9 inches tall. The alleged shooter was in his late 20s to early 30s, he said. Police believe the shooter fled the area in a black or dark blue four-door vehicle, Kifer said.
