Family welcomes new bundle of joy

Welcome, Baby Delaney! My dear friends, Emily and Charlie Cole of Hagerstown, celebrated the blessing of a new addition to their family this week.

Delaney Paige, weighing 9 pounds, 7 ounces, and measuring 20 and one-half inches tall, was born this past Tuesday, March 7.

Congratulations to your family on your new beautiful baby girl, Mommy, Daddy and big Sister Avarie! We wish you much happiness with your new bundle of joy!

Little League tryouts to be held in Halfway

Just a quick note to parents of Halfway area Little League participants:

Halfway Little League tryouts are scheduled for the following dates and times:

Saturday, March 11: ages 11 and 12- noon; 10-year-olds - 2 p.m.; and 9-year-olds - 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12: 11- and 12-year-olds - 1:30 p.m.; 9- and 10-year-olds - 2:30 p.m.; and Monday, March 13: 9- throught 12-year-olds -- 5 p.m.

Parents, there is still time to register. If you missed registration, you may register on Saturday, March 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the field. Registration fee is $30; proof of residence and original birth certificate are required.

Bonanza tickets are still available. The bonanza is set for Saturday, March 25, at the Williamsport Fire Hall. Tickets are $30 per couple for a chance to win $1,000. If interested, call 301-223-7914.

Antique tractors to be on display

The seventh annual Washington County Antique Tractor Club's Spring Show will be hosted at Valley Mall beginning Monday, March 13.

Many antique farm tractors, lawn and garden tractors, house and farm tools and equipment will be on hand for viewing through Sunday, March 19.

Tri-State Farm Toy Collectors Club, and Interstate Tractor Pullers, will also be on hand. On Friday, March 17, rope making is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. A kids' pedal pull will be held on Saturday, March 18, at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 301-790-2422, or visit www.wcatc.org on the Web.

Class of 1971 plans reunion

South Hagerstown High School's Class of 1971 will be celebrating their 35-year class reunion this summer.

The reunion is scheduled for Saturday, July 22, at the Sheraton Four Points on Dual Highway in Hagerstown. Invitations will be mailed out by the end of March.

The committee is in the process of updating their mailing list. The Virginia Avenue Church of God located at 17306 Virginia Avenue, will be hosting a dramatic presentation of "His Story" on Friday, April 7, Saturday, April 8, and Sunday, April 9. All shows will begin at 7 pm with doors opening at 6:00 pm. A nursery will be provided. A freewill offering will also be available.
