Little League meeting, tryouts set

There will be a Little League meeting on Sunday, March 12, at 6 p.m. at the activities building behind the Legion.

Tryouts for Little League teams will be held on March 11, at 10 a.m.; and March 13 and 14 at 6 p.m.

Spaghetti dinner set for this evening

Don't forget, the Clear Spring High School Reflections Show Choir will hold its annual spaghetti dinner today at St. John's UCC Church in Clear Spring from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 and dessert is included. Take-out will also be available. Kids under 5 eat free. The show choir will perform at 5:15; 6; 6:45 and 7:30.

Drama Club's 'Oklahoma' on stage

The Clear Spring High School Drama Club will be performing "Oklahoma" on March 24-26. The show times on the 24th and 25th will be at 7:30 p.m. and on the 26th at 2 p.m. Tickets will be $7 for adults and $5 for students.

Hoop league picks All-Stars

The Hagerstown Junior Basketball League has picked players for the All-Star teams.

These are the boys from the Clear Spring area whohave made an All-Star team:

For the Blue Division "A" All-Stars - Brandon Glazer, for the Blue Division "B" AllStars - Andrew Harrell.

For the Elementary Blue Division All-Stars - Kyle Shanholtz; for the Elementary Red Division All-Stars - Sam Elwood and Nick Hill.

The All-Star games will be held at St. Maria Goretti High School on Saturday March 18, starting at 11 a.m. The Junior Division "B" teams will play first, followed by the Elementary game and ending with the Junior "A" Division game. 4-Star plans benefit gymnastics show

4-Star Athletic Complex on Milestone Terrace in Williamsport presents "A Night of Showcased Talent" on Saturday, March 25, at 7 p.m.

4-Star's Gymnastics Team - level 4-5-6-7 and 8 - will give performances on the uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and tumbling on the innovative tumble track.

There will be a karate demonstration by Lisa Buckley and Bob Sandburg. Also, there will be performances by the national champion cheerleading squad, Magnum Force. There will be also be floor exercise routines by Maryland State Champion Alicia Perez and Russian gymnast Natalia Kruller and a dance routine by Leanne Heinlein.

Celebrate the gift of fitness at this entertaining evening.Help the gymnasts in supporting the effort to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis,

All proceeds go toward the research and benefit of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Minstrel Show to be held next week

It's not too late to get your tickets for the Minstrel Show.

Clear Spring Lions Club is holding its 55th annual Minstrel/Variety Show on Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 19, at 2 p.m. The show, which will be held in the Clear Spring High School auditorium, is titled "Lions Take a Musical Tour of the USA."

Chorus music for this year's show will contain such songs as "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes," "Casey Junior," "The Ballad of Davy Crockett," "You've Got a Friend in Me," "When You Wish Upon A Star," "Sweet Georgia Brown," "We're Marching to Zion," When the Saints Go Marching In," "Sweet Home Alabama" and Fantasy On America."

Tickets, as printed, are good only on the night or day printed on the ticket. Everyone must have a ticket to enter. Admission $5 for adults, $3 for children and preschoolers are free. The auditorium is handicapped accessible.

Advance tickets may be purchased at the Clear Spring Hardware Store, downtown Clear Spring, the Sunrise Handi Mart at the corner of National Pike and St. Paul's Road, or from any Clear Spring Lions Club member, or any cast member of the show. Plenty to eat before the show

If you would like to have dinner before the show, there will be two chances to do so.

The Clear Spring Band is holding a spaghetti dinner before the Minstrel Show in the school cafeteria on Friday, March 17.

The dinner will be served with salad, bread, desserts and a drink. Dinner will start at 5 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. The cost is $5.75 for adults and $3.75 for children 2-12. Also, if you are planning to attend the Minstrel Variety Show on Saturday, you can enjoy a great meal before the show.

The Clear Spring Athletic Boosters will be having a roast beef dinner on March 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the high school commons area.

The menu consists of roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, dessert and iced tea. The cost is $8 for adults, and $5 for students. Tickets may be purchased from Boosters members or at the door.

Did you know?

Did you know that the blue house on the corner at 101 Cumberland St. used to be Dr. Cohen's office? It was also used as a store that used to sell clothing and other items.
