A former Williamsport High School custodian who pleaded guilty to a charge that he had sexual contact with a 15-year-old student was sentenced Wednesday to serve three months in jail, according to court records.

Jeremy Michael Williams, 24, whose address at the time of his arrest was 14024 Village Mill Drive in Maugansville, pleaded guilty in Washington County Circuit Court to third-degree sex offense in December. He was charged with having sex at his apartment with a 15-year-old student in October 2005.

On Wednesday, Circuit Judge Frederick C. Wright III ordered Williams to serve four years in prison, but suspended all but three months of the sentence, which he ordered Williams to serve at the Washington County Detention Center. Wright made Williams eligible for work release. Williams was placed on three years of unsupervised probation, which began Wednesday, court documents state.

Williams resigned from Williamsport High School on Oct. 5, the day charges against him were filed.

According to charging documents, the 15-year-old girl was dropped off for work Oct. 2 about 2:30 p.m. by her mother, then Williams picked her up and took her to his apartment, where they had "consensual" sex. He then returned her to work about 6:30 p.m., according to charging documents.

The girl told police "she began a friendly relationship with Jeremy Williams while at school. She also advised he would come to her place of employment and eat dinner and they would talk there," charging documents state.
