Book fair under way at Waynesboro YMCA



WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The Waynesboro Area YMCA's Y's Nest Preschool is holding a Scholastic Book Fair this week and early next week in the YMCA's Youth Center.

The book fair began Monday and runs through Friday. It opens back up on Monday and closes on March 13. Books can be purchased from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the youth center.

The selection includes old classics, Easter stories, board books, pop-up books, chapter books, computer games and cookbooks.

Proceeds help the preschool program buy more books for its classrooms.

The YMCA is at 810 E. Main St.




Fleagle to discuss issues on TV show



HARRISBURG, Pa. - Rep. Patrick E. Fleagle will appear this month on "Behind the Headlines," a television show focusing on state government issues, to discuss the governor's budget proposal.

Fleagle, R-Franklin, He will be joined by Rep. Dwight Evans, D-Philadelphia.

Viewers in the 90th District, which includes most of southern Franklin County, may watch the program today and March 14 on Comcast channel 21 at 2 p.m.

Commission hopefuls invited to meeting



MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The five Republican candidates for Berkeley County Commission have been invited to speak at the next Berkeley County Republican Club meeting, scheduled for Thursday, March 16.

Larry V. Faircloth, Bob Grove, Marty Kilmer, Ted Morgan and Bill Stubblefield have been invited to present their qualifications to the membership. Candidates will field questions.

U.S. Senate candidate, John R. Raese, has also been asked to attend and address the group.

Meetings are held third Thursdays of each month at Hoss's Steak & Sea House, 2200 Edwin Miller Blvd., Martinsburg.

An optional "Dutch Treat" dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
