Shadrach is employee of the month at health department



Shannon Shadrach has been chosen as the Washington County Health Department's employee of the month for February. Shadrach has been employed at the health department since 1995 in the nursing division's School Health Program. As a nurse's aide at E. Russell Hicks Middle School, she provides direct care to students and staff during those times when school is in session. Her selection is a reflection of the cheerful competence she brings to a dynamic and demanding work situation.




Staff changes at Washington County Hospital



Washington County Hospital announces the following promotions and hiring of its staff:

Registered nurse Penny Hill was recently promoted to administrative director of perioperative services. She will provide administrative oversight of the operating room, central processing, same day surgery, pre-procedure evaluation, post anesthesia care unit, and the holding room.

Registered nurse Jody A. Bishop was recently promoted to administrative director of women's and children's services. Bishop will provide administrative oversight of 4E (women's and children's unit), IV infusion services, Family Birthing Center, and the special care nursery.

Registered nurse Julie Blackburn was recently hired as clinical manager for critical care and the cardiac catheterization lab. Blackburn will provide oversight to the critical care unit, intensive care unit, and the cardiac catheterization lab.

Registered nurse Patricia Reggio was recently hired as clinical manager for the Family Birthing Center. Reggio will provide daily oversight to the Family Birthing Center.
