Hospice of Washington County



Hospice of Washington County Inc. has scheduled a spring volunteer training program.

The course will be offered Tuesday, April 4, Wednesday, April 5, Friday, April 7 and Tuesday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The first session, an overview of the Hospice concept of care, is open to the public.

Hospice is a Medicare- certified, JCAHO-accredited, licensed program of nursing, certified nursing aide, social work and volunteer support services for patients and families who need end-of-life care.

Associated Builders and Contractors



The Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. Cumberland Valley Chapter held its February meeting on Feb. 16 at the Plaza Hotel in Hagerstown.

Attorney Tom Gill spoke about what to do when you don't get paid.

ABC is a national trade association with more than 24,000 firms across the nation. More than 200 employers are members of the Cumberland Valley Chapter.

Erie Insurance



For the second consecutive year, Erie Insurance Group earned the highest ranking in the J.D. Power and Associates Collision Repair Satisfaction Study of consumers who file auto insurance claims.

Erie Insurance is represented in the Hagerstown area by Antietam Insurance Associates.

The study represented the responses of 5,679 consumers who had collision repair or body work performed on their vehicles in the past 12 months. Respondents were asked to rate their satisfaction with both their insurance company and auto body repair shop.

The study specifically cited Erie's performance in repair time, accuracy of repairs and agent and employee contact with claimants throughout the claims process, according to a prepared release.




Edward Jones



The six local Edward Jones representatives will host a free satellite broadcast, Living Retirement to the Max: Your Guide to an Active and Fulfilling Retirement, at a variety of locations.

The interactive event will be held Tuesday, March 14, at 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
