Police probe link in robberies at dry cleaners

Hagerstown Police Department detectives are comparing two robberies - reported within days of each other - of city dry cleaners to see if they are linked, Lt. Mike King said.

J&J Cleaners, at 1746 Dual Highway, was robbed Saturday at about 3 p.m. Kenley Express Cleaners, at 761 E. Wilson Blvd., was robbed Thursday night.

The robber in the J&J Cleaners robbery was described as a white man about 5 feet 4 inches tall with a thin build and wearing sunglasses, a white baseball cap and navy blue sweat shirt, according to published reports.

The robber in the Kenley Express Cleaners robbery was described as a white man about 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 140 pounds, wearing sunglasses, a dark ball cap, a blue Windbreaker and blue jeans, The Herald-Mail has reported.
