MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Jessica Morrison and Rachel Carr flashed their best Miss America smiles as they were crowned Miss Berkeley County and Miss North Eastern, respectively, Saturday night at the Apollo Civic Theatre.

This is the first year the Miss Berkeley County Scholarship Pageant ended with two queens.

The Miss North Eastern title was added last year, but was awarded several weeks after the 2005 pageant.

Both Morrison, 21, and Carr, 23, of Martinsburg, will go on to compete for the title of Miss West Virginia held in Morgantown, W.Va., in June.

Amber Hamilton, 19, of Inwood, W.Va., was first runner-up in the scholarship pageant and received a $300 scholarship to the college of her choice.

Kasha Brown, 19, of Fairmont, W.Va., won the $50 interview award. The 10-minute interview with judges represents 40 percent of a contestant's overall score. The $50 talent award went to Jessica Yurish, 19, of Martinsburg, for her lyrical dance routine.
