CLEAR SPRING -

Six minutes was long enough to let Clear Spring hang around.

Tied 10-10 after the game's first six minutes, the Hancock Panthers went on a 24-5 run to close out the first half en route to a 69-37 victory over the Blazers in a girls Class 1A West East Sectional quarterfinal game Friday night.

Jennifer Willison had another fine game on the inside for Hancock, scoring 25 points on 9-for-15 shooting and pulling down 21 rebounds.

"I feel really good and really confident about our team," Willison said. "I was really excited about the good start. I had to keep working hard all night long. They had two people on me all night. I knew that they weren't going to give me anything easy."

Kris Creek had 20 points, six rebounds, three steals and three assists for the Panthers (10-13). Erin Smith scored 11 points, while Kaley Jenkins added seven rebounds and five assists.

"In the first round of the playoffs, any win is a big win for you," Hancock coach Rocky Wills said. "Jennifer had another dominant game today, but she got help from her teammates. We were 19-for-23 from the free throw line and I will take that any night out of the week."

Megan Blickenstaff led Clear Spring (2-21) with 10 points, while Carley Snyder and Maggie Wolford grabbed six rebounds each.
