Intruders with guns enter house

February 24, 2006

WILLIAMSPORT - Three men carrying guns entered a house Thursday morning on Pine Tree Lane north of Williamsport, but left after discovering the person they were looking for no longer lived there, Maryland State Police Sgt. Steve Ganley said.

Ganley said that at about 4:45 a.m., the homeowner and friends were at the residence when three men showed up.

One of the men accused a man of breaking into his mother's house, Ganley said. When they realized the man no longer lived at the house, they left, he said.

Ganley said that one of the people inside the house ran to a nearby house to call 911 and report the intruders.

When troopers arrived, they found bullet holes in the residence and reported possible shots fired, but after investigating, they discovered that the previous homeowner had "shot up the house" before he left, police said.
