Pedestrian killed at Frederick intersection

FREDERICK, Md. - A pedestrian was killed Thursday evening in Frederick after being struck by a vehicle, Frederick County Sheriff's deputies said.

The man was near the intersection of Corporate Drive and New Design Road about 5:30 p.m. when he was struck, Cpl. Jennifer Bailey said. She said the man was an adult and was taken by ambulance to Frederick Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The man's identity was not available late Thursday. Bailey said he did not live in Maryland, and deputies were working to notify his family.

The name of the driver who struck the pedestrian was not available. Bailey said the driver was the only occupant of that vehicle.

Bailey said deputies were still investigating the crash.
