Lions Club plans meeting

The Lions Club of Halfway will host a meeting on Thursday, March 2, at the Plaza Hotel.

Past District Governors Night will begin at 6:30 p.m. Those interested in becoming a Lion or wanting membership information may contact 301-791-5271.

Speedway cars on display at mall

Hey, race car fans, be sure to head out to Valley Mall this weekend for its annual Race A Rama event.

The Hagerstown Speedway will be set up for its 21st annual Race A Rama Show, today through Saturday. Forty cars will be on hand throughout the mall for viewing. Fast Action Motor Sports will also have its race track and a NASCAR simulator for more racing excitement.


The Little Miss Pageant will take place on Friday night in the Food Court at 7 p.m. Some local area drivers will be available in Center Court on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. for an autograph session. Cabin Fever Weekend set for March 3-5

Back by popular demand ... Cabin Fever Weekend II will be going on at the mall beginning Friday, March 3. The family fun events will be hosted through Sunday, March 5. More than 10 inflatable attractions - Velcro Wall, Moon Bounce, Super Slide and more will be on hand. The events will be available on the following dates and times:

March 3 - 5 to 9:30 p.m.; March 4 - 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; March 5 - 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ticket prices are as follows: $2 per ride; $10 all day pass; $15 all weekend pass. Proceeds to benefit various charities in the community.

Dora the Explorer to visit mall in March

Oh man! Dora the Explorer will be making a visit to the Halfway area. Dora will be visiting the mall on Saturday, March 11, and children will get the chance to have breakfast with the adorable little explorer. Breakfast with Dora the Explorer will be offered at 7:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. The breakfast menu will consist of burrito kit, sausage and rice, orange juice or milk. Tickets are $3 for children 12 and under and $5 for adults. Advanced tickets will go on sale Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Guest Service Center in front of Bon-Ton. There will be a limit of 150 persons for each meal.

(Children will receive a fee Dora the Explorer gift with their meal). Tickets will not be sold at the door.
