The Cumberland Valley Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors has listed the winners of its annual Professional Trades Competition, held Jan. 28 at its training facility at 530 N. Locust St. in Hagerstown.
Students from the third- and fourth-year ABC apprenticeship class competed against one another to win a trip to the national convention to be held March 17 in Las Vegas.
Morris Schenk and Chris Ostrander will compete in the national competition.
Local winners were:
Carpentry: first place, Shannon Jays, Howard Shockey & Sons; second place, Mitchell DeLashmutt, Tri-Com USA; third place, Josh Wilderson, GRC Contractor Inc.
Electrical: first place, Morris Schenk, Barnhart Electric; second place, Matthew Souder, IEC&S Inc.; third place, Jeffrey Entsminger, IEC&S Inc.
HVAC-R: first place, Chris Ostrander, LH Cranston; second place, Jeff Schaeffer, Fidelity Engineering.
Plumbing: first place, John Eyler, J&W Mechanical Services; second place, Jeremy Crumlich, Rodney B. Smith Plbg.; third place, Sean Clemons, Van Sant Plumbing.
