Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Ranson. Pastor Robert Snurr and Pastor Dan Hesse will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Charles Henry Weedon, 70, of St. Petersburg, and formerly of Knoxville, Md., died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.

Born Feb. 3, 1935, he was the son of the late Roy and Mable Weedon Henderson.

He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by daughters, Cherrie Williams, Nicki Weedon and Hope Weedon, all of Hagerstown, Bonita Bishop of Greencastle, Pa., and Cynthia Pinkney of Silver Spring, Md.; one son, Charles Weedon of Brunswick, Md.; sisters, Hilda Smith of Pleasantville, N.J., Virginia King of Hagerstown, Betty J. Weedon of Frederick, Md., and Mary Henderson of Burkittsville, Md.; brothers, Daniel Henderson of Hagerstown, Roy Henderson of Burkittsville, David Henderson of Pleasant Valley, Md., Van Allen Henderson of Sunnyside, Md., and Richard Henderson of Petersville, Md.; granddaughters; and grandsons.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion AME Church in Knoxville, Md. The Rev. Richard C. Dyson will officiate. Burial will be in Cears Bethel AME Church Cemetery in Burkittsville.

JUNE 23, 1911-FEB. 16, 2006

Iva Blanche Seal, 94, of 12135 Walnut Point West, Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of 426 Wyoming Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born June 23, 1911, in Page County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Solon J. and Lena Burns Alger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Jacob Seal, on June 1, 2001.

She served many years alongside her husband as sexton at St. John's Episcopal Church in Hagerstown.

She was a former member of People's Gospel Tabernacle in Hagerstown.

She is survived by one daughter, Reva B. Billman and husband, Robert, of Hagerstown; and two sons, Richard G. Seal and wife, Lorraine, of Williamsport, Md., and Gary L. Seal and wife, Judy, of Hagerstown. She was the oldest of 12 children and is survived by two sisters, Maxine Wine of New Market, Va., and Ruth Whetzel of Woodstock, Va. She also is survived by five grandchildren, Debra Shaw, Vicky Billman, Jeffrey Seal, Kimberly Seal Roberts and Courtney Seal Schwartz; and eight great-grandchildren, Brian Snyder, Bill Gregory, Amelia and Jocelynn Roberts, Jensyn and Adam Schwartz, Eric Seal and Holly Seal.

She was preceded in death by one son, Alvin Roy Seal; two sisters, Helen Dove and Mary Alger; seven brothers, Raymond Alger, Forrest Alger, Medford Alger, Clifford Alger, Harry Alger, Avis Alger and Kirby Alger; and one grandson, Alvin Roy Seal Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Chuck Frank will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Michael A. Martin, 54


MAY 8, 1951-FEB. 16, 2006

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Michael A. Martin, 54, of 49 N. Carlisle St., died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 8, 1951, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Arthur R. and Elizabeth Horst Martin of Greencastle.

He attended Greencastle-Antrim High School and was a graduate of Eastern Mennonite High School in Harrisonburg, Va.

He was a truck driver, currently employed by Food Lion Distribution Center of Greencastle.

He was a member of Salem Ridge Mennonite Church near Greencastle, where he served as a church trustee and Sunday school superintendent.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Wilma J. Martin Martin, whom he married Sept. 1, 1970; two daughters, Angela R. Martin of High Point, N.C., and Jill M. Martin, at home; and two brothers, Donald Martin of Hagerstown and Dean Martin of Chambersburg, Pa.

A memorial service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Salem Ridge Mennonite Church in Greencastle. The Revs. Galen Lehman and Joseph Martin will officiate.

Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home in Greencastle.
