Homeowner holds intruder at gunpoint until police arrive

Confronted with a burglar at 4 a.m. today, a homeowner held the intruder at gunpoint until Hagerstown City Police arrived.

Jason Alexander Kline, 24, of 1920 Hamilton Blvd., Apt. 2N,, was charged with first- and fourth-degree burglary and trespassing, police said. He was being held on $10,000 bond this morning.

In a press release, police said they went to 1116 Oak Hill Avenue for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. The caller/complainant was being held on the line by the dispatcher and was giving information out to the officers as the crime was occurring.

The caller advised that a man had entered the residence through the front door and was unknown to the complainant.

When police arrived, the suspect was held at gunpoint by the complainant. Police took the suspect into custody without incident.
