Police say man pronounced dead after car crash

February 11, 2006|By ROBERT SNYDER

A man involved in a single-car accident was pronounced dead late Friday after being taken to Washington County Hospital, according to an official with the Hagerstown Police Department.

The man, who has not been identified, is believed to have suffered a medical emergency in his car prior to driving into a field off Howell Road in Hagerstown, Sgt. S. Bussard said.

"(Because of the) minimal damage to the car, there is nothing to indicate his death would have occurred because of the accident," Bussard said.

The man, who was the sole occupant in the car, was traveling in the southbound lane of Howell Road when the accident occurred, Bussard said.
