The Ashburns



Dave and Mary Jo (Clatterbuck) Ashburn celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, when they renewed their vows during Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

They were entertained with dinner at Hickory Bridge Restaurant and later with a surprise party at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Rob Figel of Hagerstown. Co-hosting were daughter Bridget Pearl of Hagers-town and son and his wife Kevin and Paula Ashburn of Springfield, Vt.

Mr. Ashburn retired from Metropolitan Police in Washington, D.C., and from the State of Maryland.

Mrs. Ashburn retired from North Hagerstown High School.

The Ashburns are active with their church and the Mason Dixon District Exchange clubs.

They have three granddaughters and a grandson.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry G. Reynolds of Smithsburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 18, 2005, at a surprise party at Antietam Family Recreation Park. The event was hosted by their four children, Kathy Reynolds and Glenn Reynolds, both of Smithsburg, Harriet Yost of Waynesboro, Pa., and Kevin Reynolds of Hagerstown. In attendance were 50 family members and friends.

The Reynoldses were married June 18, 1955, at Gorham Congregational Church in Gorham, N.H.

Joyce Reynolds was a homemaker for many years and currently works at the Dixie Eatery in Smithsburg.

Harry Reynolds served two years in the U.S. Army and retired from the Washington County Board of Education in 1989 after teaching for 32 years.

They live in Smithsburg and have four grandchildren.
