CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mario V. Serra, 68, of 156 W. Catherine St., died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born Dec. 16, 1937, in Cuba.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Kenneth Brian Pereschuk, 43, of Hedgesville, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born April 24, 1962, in Baltimore, he was the son of Myrtle I. Shifflett Pereschuk of Hagerstown and the late John M. Pereschuk.

He was a 1980 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

He was a self-employed general contractor.

He was a member of Living Waters Family Worship Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Barbara J. Stone of Hagerstown, and Aleta D. Irving of Boonsboro; 11 brothers, Earle R. Pereschuk Sr. of Williamsport, Donald L. Pereschuk of Carlisle, Pa., Gary W. Pereschuk of Bixby, Okla., Robert A. Pereschuk Sr. of Laredo, Texas, Thomas E. Pereschuk Sr. of Leitersburg, Harold E. Pereschuk of Beaver Creek, John E. Pereschuk of West Virginia, Merrill R. Pereschuk and Arthur L. Pereschuk, both of Hagerstown, and Larry L. Pereschuk and Edwin C. Pereschuk, both of Keedysville; grandmother, Goldie R. Shifflett of Hagerstown; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Emmanuel Chapel, Smithsburg. Pastor Jonathan D. Laye and Pastor Dallas Waggle will officiate. Burial will be in the Smithsburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.

Harold M. Pomeroy, 88

TELLICO PLAINS, Tenn. - Harold M. Pomeroy, 88, of Tellico Plains, and formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006.

Born Dec. 30, 1917, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Spencer Madison Pomeroy and Lula Margaret Costello.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Grove Pomeroy.

He worked as a crane operator at the former Martin Marietta in Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Martinsburg.

He is survived by two sons, Harold S. Pomeroy of Tellico Plains, and Richard E. Pomeroy of Deer Park, Wash.; four sisters, Alice Reedy, Lucy Watts, Irma Riley and Dorothy Shackelford; one brother, Daniel Gayner; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margie Garrett and Juanita Morgan; two brothers, Lewis Gayner and Jay Gayner; and one granddaughter.

Services will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Martinsburg. Pastor John Appel will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Robert H. Smith Sr., 71

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Robert Hilton Smith Sr., 71, of Middletown, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital.

Born July 26, 1934, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late George and Mary Parlett Smith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Virginia Gambriel Smith, in 1998.

He retired from Mohawk Industries as a sales representative.

He was a member of Middletown United Methodist Church.

He was past president of Middletown Valley Athletic Association, coached soccer and was a member of Yankee Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps of Baltimore.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Sipe of Etters, Pa., and Susan E. Grice of Hampstead, Md.; one son, Robert H. Smith Jr. of Middletown; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Middletown United Methodist Church. The Rev. Susan Halse will officiate.

Private burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown.

John J. Needham Sr., 72

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - John James Needham Sr., 72, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at his home.

Born Dec. 21, 1933, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Michael James and Mary Maroney Needham.

He attended school at St. Rita's in Chicago.

He worked as an architectural engineer for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1992.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.

He was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60 of Berkeley Springs.
