Pa. man faces porn charges

FAIRFIELD, Pa. - Police in Adams County, Pa., have charged a Liberty Township man with several child pornography offenses.

Ralph Douglas Tracey, 39, of the 2800 block of Tract Road, was charged with sexual abuse of children, 257 counts of possession of child pornography and 257 counts of criminal use of communication facility for using the Internet for downloading child pornography, Liberty Township Police Chief Jim Holler said in a written release.

Each of the 515 felony counts are punishable by up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine, Holler said.

Police began investigating Tracey Jan. 9 and used a warrant to search his home Jan. 30. Police said they seized several computers from the home.

Tracey allegedly had 257 images on the computer, including movies and pictures depicting children engaging in sex acts or simulating sex acts, police said. Tracey, who runs an auto body shop from his home, allegedly was downloading child pornography on his business' computer.

The child pornography that police seized will be taken to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Alexandria, Va., to help police identify victims, police said.

Police also obtained an arrest warrant for Bryan Varner, 30, of the 1600 block of Waynesboro Pike in Liberty Township, who they are searching for in connection with a separate Internet child pornography sting. He is charged in the warrant with four counts of sexual abuse of children for possession child pornography and four counts of criminal use of a communication facility by utilizing the Internet for downloading child pornography, police said.
