Students nominated for National English Merit nod

Heritage Academy's English teacher, Beverly Hannah, has nominated a group of high school students for the National English Merit Award.

The nominated students are: seniors Meredith Johnson, daughter of Wayne and Sandi Johnson of Mercersburg, Pa.; David Kidd, son of Michael and Diane Kidd of Williamsport; and Luke Therrien, son of Norman Therrien of Hagerstown; junior Dylan Black, son of Bryan and Deborah Black of Waynesboro, Pa.; sophomores Ben Martin, son of Duane and Sharon Martin of Clear Spring; and Megan Mowen, daughter of Robert and Melba Mowen of Clear Spring; and freshmen Danae Deal, daughter of Gerald and Teresa Deal of Smithsburg; Loudon Hoosier, son of Michael and Bethany Hoosier of Clear Spring; and James Smyly, son of Jim and Diane Smyly of Big Pool.
