Retired vets can go to Annapolis to support

February 05, 2006

Military retirees wanting to show support for a bill that proposes freeing them from paying state income tax on their military pay may journey by bus from Hagerstown to Annapolis Monday afternoon.

Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich has proposed to exempt military income for some retired veterans from state taxes during the current session of the Maryland General Assembly.

A bus will leave the parking lot of Martin's Food Market off Dual Highway Monday at 2 p.m. and return by 8:30 p.m., said Bob Glausier, a local veteran and one of the organizers of the trip.

The cost is $10 per veteran.

To reserve a seat, call Glausier at 301-432-5289 or Gen. Boyd Cook at 301-797-0768.
