ANNAPOLIS - Del. LeRoy E. Myers, R-Washington/Allegany, on Thursday led the House of Delegates in a prayer honoring correctional officer Jeffery Wroten, killed last week while guarding a Roxbury Correctional Institution inmate at Washington County Hospital.

"Day to day we walk our beat, in God we put our faith, 'cause we're the law inside the wall - we keep the public safe," he quoted from the prayer offered at Wroten's memorial service Wednesday.

"Farewell, our brother, rest in peace; on you we could depend."

Washington County Delegation Chairman Christopher B. Shank said a resolution on behalf of the House would be presented to Wroten's family at a later date.
