Lions meeting

The Lions Club of Halfway will host its regular meeting tonight. The District Governor will visit with the Halfway Lions beginning at 6:30 at the Plaza Hotel.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, the Lions will meet to honor SARA Award recipients and families for outstanding performances in their school work and community. Anyone interested in learning more about the Lions Club organization or for membership information may contact the membership chairman at 301-791-5271.

Valentine's dance

Want to kick up your heels and have a dancing good time with your Valentine? Visit the Funkstown Moose Lodge on Sunday, Feb. 12, for a theme dance," Swing into Love," from 2:30 until 5:30 p.m. Music will be by Dagmar and the Seductones. Admission is $9 per person. Little League sign-up

Grab those mitts, spikes, bats and baseballs, it is time to head out to the field for a game of Little League baseball! Sign-ups for the Halfway Area Little League are scheduled for the following dates and times: Thursday, Feb. 16, from 6 p.m. .until 8 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 17, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 18, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. All registration will be held at the Plaza Hotel on Underpass Way. Those wanting to participate in Little League must have the following items at the time of registration: three forms of proof of residency, a birth certificate, and a $30 registration fee per family. Food, bargains galore

Attention yard sale bargain hunters, no need to fret about the cold weather, head indoors to St. James Brethren Church on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. for an Indoor Yard Breakfast, Lunch and Bake Sale. Homemade goodies will be cooking all day along with many bargain items for sale. St. James Brethren Church is on Lappans Road.
