Hagerstown mayor resigns

Hagerstown Mayor Richard F. Trump resigned Wednesday in a two-sentence letter to the City Council. The city charter requires the council to name a new mayor from the same party as Trump, who is a Republican. Former Mayor Robert E. Bruchey II, also a Republican, said Wednesday, "I'd be interested no matter what. ... I'd be honored." Read the full story in Thursday's Herald-Mail newspapers.
