January 30, 2006

AAUW

Applications for AAUW scholarships are available at guidance departments of Washington County public and private schools and to Hagerstown Community College.

The Hagerstown Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) makes available scholarship money to a number of Washington County residents each year.

Applicants must be female residents of the county with plans to obtain a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university. They may be high school seniors, students already in college or women who have been out of school for some time and want to go back.

Selection is based on grades, extracurricular activities and need.

The scholarship money is raised through the AAUW Used Book Sale.

Anyone who would like an application, but has no access to one at school, may call Joann Fillingham at 301-739-7861. If there is no answer, callers may leave their name and full mailing address and one will be mailed to you.
