Little Heiskell bobblehead eyed

The bayonet-carrying image of Little Heiskell featured on Hagerstown flags could take on a new form this summer as a promotional gimmick for city events.

During the mayor and council work session Tuesday, city Public Information Officer Karen Giffin asked the council for permission to spend $1,500 from the city's public information budget for next year, in addition to another $1,500 from her budget this year, to order Little Heiskell bobbleheads to be distributed during a Hagerstown Suns game in July. The figures would be distributed along with promotional material about the city's Hager Craft Days.

While supportive of the idea, council members said they wanted to delay approving the idea in order to ask an area resident to consider posing in uniform to serve as a model for the bobblehead.
