Ireland said Wells has "great vision' with what she accomplished in Mathews County, Va., at the Bay School Cultural Arts Center, where Wells previously worked.

Wells said she hoped the Ice House renovations on the first and second floors will be ready by 2008 and "by 2007, there will be 37,000 square feet of usable space."

Lavin told her about 11,000 people visited the Ice House Gallery last year.

After touring the theater area, Ireland suggested Wells contact the Charleston Light Opera Guild and the Kanawha Players for "outside acts" to perform.
